Aloha Waikapū Community,

Please join us on Monday, September 14, at 7 pm for our next General Membership Meeting.  This meeting will serve as a General Election Candidate Forum, and will be held at the Maui Tropical Plantation, with doors opening at 6:15 pm.

Included will be questions from the community.  Please reply to this email with your questions by Wednesday, September 9.  We will ask up to 3 questions provided from emails for each race.

Invited to participate in the forum are candidates for:

–       Maui County Mayor

–       Maui County Council Wailuku-Waikapu-Waihee seat

–       State Senate District 5

–       State House District 10

The Maui County races are non-partisan. Waikapu residents can vote for all 9 Maui County Council seats and not just the Wailuku-Waihee-Waikapu Residency Area seat.  To learn more about candidates in other County Council races, we encourage you to visit Akaku Maui Media’s youtube page for recordings of candidate forums held by other community associations in Kihei, Kula, Haiku, West Maui and elsewhere.  Their page can be found at https://www.youtube.com/@AkakuMaui/videos.

We look forward to seeing you on September 14th.

Mahalo,
Jordan Helle
